William Albee William Albee,
soldier in the Revolution, b. Wiscasset, ME, April 26, 1746 or June 20,
1746 or September 9, 1746; d. Hadley's Lake, East Machias, ME, June 26,
1836; m. Ellen Dillaway, b. Newport, RI [according to family record]; d.
Machias, ME, October 28, 1819; daughter of Arthur and Eunice [Allen]
Dillaway. A family record says he removed from Blackstone, MA, to
Machias in 1769; but Blackstone was not set aside from Mendon until
1845. Another account is that he came from Black Point near
Scarboro, ME to Machias. He was Indian Agent for the Eastern
Tribes 1805 and Deputy Sheriff 1811. 1 Mercy, b. Machias or East Machias [recorded both towns], October 19, 1774; m. John Palmer. 2 Arthur Dillaway, b. East Machias, February 21, 1777. See 141477 8 Lydia, b. Machias, July 10, 1790 according to town record. She may be the same as Lydia who, according to family record, was b. July 18, 1798. 9 John Chaloner, b. East Machias, January 25, 1793, was lost in the woods on the St. Croix River and froze to death 1818. 10 Henry A., b. Machias, September 23, 1795 [family record] or September 23, 1796 [town record].
